I try to implement equitable grading practices to the best of my ability in all of my classes. These practices include: 

• Open note tests (HP only)

  • I am more concerned with the successful application of the skill than I am with rote memorization.

• Test Corrections

  • Make necessary test corrections with a metacognitive review, explaining where in their calculation caused them to get the incorrect answer and what they can pay attention to next time.

• Assignments accepted until a week before the grading period ends

  • Life happens, and things come up. I get it. I am happy to accommodate.

I will try my best to return any email received within 24-48 hours after receiving it from Monday through Thursday. Any emails received on Fridays will be returned after the weekend.

Because I teach at both Kamiak and Harbour Pointe, I end up getting an insane amount of emails, and I will occasionally forget to communicate back. Please don't hesitate to send me a nudge if you haven't heard from me in a few days.

It may be easier and more efficient just to communicate directly with me through ParentSquare.

All of the policies laid out in the student handbook also apply to my classes.
